About the WTTW:

The Women’s Day League is a non-U.S.T.A. women’s inter-club doubles league that will be played during the daytime.  The competition will be divided into 4 flights and each flight will consist of three doubles matches.

                      Flight 1 (4.0-4.5+rating)

Flight 2 (3.5-4.0 rating)

Flight 3 (3.0-3.5 rating)

Flight 4 (2.5-3.0 rating)

There will be teams from country clubs, subdivisions, and city parks competing in the Women’s Day League.  The Women’s Day League will hopefully unify the Wilmington area tennis community and offer expanded competition, increased participation, and a very fun, social atmosphere. 

The Women’s Day League matches will be played on country club courts, public park courts, or any site where a team entering the league can guarantee access to three hard/or clay courts for home matches during the day.

There will be and awards banquet at the end of the fall season.

The Women’s Day League fee is $22/per player.

Team Format:

A team match will consist of three doubles matches.  Each match will be two out of three sets with a Coman ten point tiebreaker being played for the third set.  * PRIOR to the team match, team captains may decide (time/weather permitting) to play out the third set if all opponents agree.

All three matches should begin at the same time.

The majority of the matches will be scheduled to begin play at 11:00 am.   Exception, when Cape Fear Country Club or Empie hosts, play will begin at 10:00 am.

Players should form their own teams with players at the appropriate level.  Six players are needed to play a match.  There is no maximum limit of players on a team roster. 

Any player wishing to participate who does not have a team should contact info@wilmingtonteamtennis.com or 919-332-2351 to have their name placed on the list of interested players.  Teams needing additional players to fill their rosters can use this list as a resource.  If enough players are on the list at a particular level, we will try to form new teams.  There is not a registration fee to get on the list.
